Over-eating & disorderly eating can be emotional in nature.   As the body looks for balance from uncomfortable mind states, the subconscious mind often suggests to eat.  Those suggested foods are often not in keeping with health or well-being.  While they may feel good in the moment, the person is usually aware on some level that they are harming themselves in some way.  This often leads to additional problems.
