CYBERINFRASTRUCTURE

The Report of the National Science Foundation Blue Ribbon Advisory Panel on Cyberinfrastructure states:
Using advance science & technology, biofuels are being developed for automobiles to help decrease carbon emissions.
[Cyberinfrastructure] refers to infrastructure based upon distributed computer, information, and communication technology If the infrastructure is required for an industrial economy, then we could say that cyberinfrastructure is required for a knowledge community.
Cyberinfrastructure for a knowledge economy requires a better infrastructure for data, which is a goal of the National Laboratory for Advanced Data Research (NLADR).

At the basis of the knowledge economy is data.
